On Friday August 10th, over 1,000 backpacks were handed out to underprivileged kids along with shoes, clothes and even groceries to equip them to go back to school! They also enjoyed train rides, inflatables and free dinner. It was put together through an organization called About Kidz, providing practical needs for the kids in our community.
On Friday, August 31st, almost $9,000 was collected to support Acres of Hope! It was all part of an event called Ladies Night Out where 1300 women listened to the stories of how Acres of Hope changes lives of countless women and children fighting to escape homelessness. In addition, over 150 encouraging letters written by listeners were delivered to Acres of Hope to inspire and lift up the residents.
During the month of April, listeners donated thousands of clothes to support WEAVE and Movers for Moms. The Fish traveled from Roseville to Folsom to West Sacramento collecting bags and bags of new and gently used shoes, kids cloths, women's clothing, toys, books and everything else you can think of to bless Women Escaping A Violent Environment.
