Christmas Music Tells the Story

What is it about Christmas music that just accentuates the holiday as a whole?  How is it that strangers can come together and find both hope and community around Christmas music?  This PBS feature explores the attraction Christmas music has for us, and how its phrases and lyrics give us hope.

Featuring Amy Grant, and music from Chris Tomlin and others.

Who was St. Nicholas?

We have assigned so many attributes to St. Nick - except maybe some historical facts!  Where did St. Nicholas come from, and how do we separate historical fact from holiday fiction?

Here's a narrative you can share with your family to help everyone appreciate Christmas all the more.

Lauren Daigle - 'Noel'

Critics agree, 'Noel' is one of Lauren Daigle's more breathtaking performances to date.  While still an up-and-coming artist, Lauren recorded this song on Chris Tomlin's 2015 Christmas album, Adore.  Surprisingly, it has become one of the season's most-played songs.

How Would Jesus Celebrate Christmas?

Most years I tend to lose sight of Jesus somewhere between the deals of Black Friday and the dawn of a new year.  As I fight to carve out the time to consider the sacred, I keep wondering how Jesus would celebrate His birth.  If Jesus were still walking the earth, what would He be doing this Christmas? Here's my best guess.

Does Christmas Make You ‘Wonder’ or ‘Ponder’?

When the shepherds came to the manger and told everyone about the supernatural announcement of Christ’s birth, there were two distinct reactions – “Wonder” and “Ponder”.  Those in attendance wondered at what the shepherds said, but Mary pondered what they said in her heart.

So how about you?  Are you a “wonderer” or a “ponderer”?
