GaGa’s Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 cup Land o Lakes unsalted butter (2 sticks), room temperature
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar, packed
2 eggs at room temperature
2 teaspoons vanilla (we use Madagascar Vanilla Bean Paste)
3 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
12 ounces dark chocolate chunks
Maldon Sea Salt
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
In electric mixer on high speed, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla until creamy.
In a medium bowl, with a wire wisk, mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
In electric mixer, add the flour, baking soda, and salt mixture to the creamed mixture a little at a time .
Remove bowl from mixer and stir in by hand with wooden spoon, the chocolate chunks.
Chill the cookie dough in the fridge for about 30 minutes before scooping onto cookie sheets and in between batches.
Using a cookie scoop, place dough on parchment paper, which has been placed on cookie sheets. Parchment keeps you cookie sheets clean. Leave enough space between the cookies so they will not touch while baking. Sprinkle lightly with Maldon Sea Salt.
Bake 10 to 13 minutes, depending on your oven.
Cool on cooling rack until ready to eat. Store what’s left in your cookie jar.
Makes 3 ½ dozen yummy cake-like cookies. Enjoy!
You may want to have some cookie dough in your fridge for those times you have unexpected guests or sweet tooth. Just let stand for about 30 minutes to warm the dough and then use your cookie scoop to place on parchment and bake.
